MAGISTRATE'S COURT
• YESTERDAY’S SITTING. Mr O. *R Qrr-Walker, S.M., presided at a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Frank Payne was f}ned £l, with costs for having his pjtpp open for the purpose of Sunday trading. William Willins wrb fined £1 far apsaulting a man in a public place. For being on licensed premises after hours, Arthur Henry Lewis wps fined £2, with costs. ■ On a charge of using an unstamped account a fine of 10s wk* imposed Wgn Eric Wakelin. . James Quinn, it wae stated, was under the influence of liquor when he committed the theft of a pair of trousers, valued at 7s od, the property of James Smith. He had been seen taking the trousers and was followed fs his lodgjngs, the stolen trousers being found in. the man's roqm. A fine of £2 was imposed, in default five days’ ipnprisonment. For failing to stop at a level crossing when a train was approaching, a finp pf £7 10s, with costs, was imposed upon a young man named William Morgan. Fpr allowing men to work upon up, satisfactory scaffolding, Ernest Robert Husband and Cecil Husband were fined £lO and costs.
