MINERS’ CLAIMS

RESULT OF CONFERENCE. WORK RESUMES ON MONDAY. Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, March 20. A conference between the State Miners’ Union and the Mines Department representatives to-day, went overall the union claims, local grievances, particularly as to tonnage rates, being referred to the Minister for Mines, the Hon. G. J. Anderson, whom the union will meet later provided a mass meeting of the union on Sunday agrees. Work will resume on Monday under the conditions existing prior to the cooperative contracts at all sections of the State mines. The new Kimbell seam was, to-day, inspected by the conference representatives.
