The Administration officials take the view Aat) the -participation of the United States in Ae Paris Finance Conference has net involved the Government in European- affairs or committed it to a participation in the future in matters of European concern .- The officials do not agree with British and French editorial statements that the Paris meeting marked the country’s entrance into European problems in'a way that had been avoided in the past. It is held that the claims of the situation alone made it, necessary for the United States to participate in the conference, and that failure to be represented -would have meant relinquishing Ae right to collect just dueß from Germany.
