OYSTERMAN'S SON BECOMES A MILLIONAIRE. « There recently reached England the millionaire president of the vitagraph Film Company, Mr Albert Smith. Thirty years ago, Albert, the son of a Whit* stable oysterman, tried his luck on the 6tage, but later, with a friend, Mr Stuart Blackton, toured the first moving picture “show’* on the halls. The first film story, made in 1899, entitled "The Haunted House/' was 100 ft long and took about a minute and a half to show. When he arrives home Mr Smith will produce his latest film, "Captain Blood, which is 10,000 ft long. With. Mr Smith, came his wife, known as Jean Page, who takes the leading feminine role in his film. She is the daughter of an Indianapolis farmer, and they first became acquainted when Mr Smith engaged her'to act for his productions because of her fine horsemanship.
