SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

The bi-weekly concert on Tuesday at the Sailors’ Friend Society wan mven by Miss V. Mueller, who with her helpI era met with much success, encore after encore being demanded and given. The performers were the Mesdamce Metcalf and Good, the Misses A. Muri. A. Carey, E- James, Tandy, V, Mueller, and Messrs Matthews, Tandy, R. Scott, Gilliee, Olarke, and Pasooe. Mesdames Metcalf and Good and Miss Oarey were at the piano. Mr Moore took the letters “8.P.” as his temperance subject, “Best Possible.” Pledges were added to the books. The hostess and Mr Pridmore donated the prices for the competitions which were happy ones; the prizes went to the Ruabine and men in port.
