BANK CLERK’S LAPSE, Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 17. Harold Keith Jones, aged 23, a bank clerk, was charged at the Police Court that, on November 19th, he forged the name of Elizabeth Burns to a cheque for £450 on the Bank- of New Zealand, and. that he uttered the cheque. Counsel for the accused said there wfs only £2OO of the money outstanding. Jones, had been married recently, and the money was obtained for that purpose. He was remanded on bail, which was fixed at £3OO.
