WAR MEMORIAL

HARBOUR BOARD, £IOOO. In order to comply with the Finance Act, 1924, a special meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board was held last evening to authorise the payment by the board of its promised contribution of £IOOO to the Wellington Citizens’ War Memorial in the city. The chairman formally moved the necessary resolution which was seconded and carried. Tlio chairman informed the “Times” representative that the amount bad already been included in tbe total sum raised, so that it would not reduce the balance of £SOOO still required to complete the fund.
