LONDON, December 9. , Beyond the prceeneo of a .large force of poliefe, and more vigilant Surveillance of the entrances to Parliament, there wan no untoward incident at the opening of the session. Scarcely a thought seemed to be given to the Egyptian plot, Whitehall and other approaches to ' Westminster being densely thronged by enthusiastic snectawn*. who accorded an ovation to the Priaee > of< Wole* as -he passed a few minute# before the Royal procession, which was a most imposing array of- magnificence. Guards’ regiments lined the route, and detachments of tho /Life Guards, in glittering Uniforms, Were included in the procession. Their Majesties unceasingly acknowledged the CTpWdt’ unbroken chorus of cheering, which culminated in a rousing welcome at the gates of the House. The econo itt the ‘ House’ of Lords was a most brilliant Spectacle of colour and jewels. Among the large aseemblaga of the Diplomatic Corps were tho representatives of Russia and Egypt, the only countries reference to which in tjw>' King’s Speech were embarrassing. Beth representatives, however, sat unmoved. • The High . Ooffijnissiort*rs occupied seats in tbe Lord Great Chamberlain’s box.
