The policy of the Baldwin Government, which has a clear majority of more than 200 votes in the House of Commons, was outlined in the King’s speech on Tuesday. Empire development is declared one of the Government’s principal aims. Preference to the Dominions in trade will be restored, and the construction of Singapore naval base will be resumed, Mr Lloyd George questioned the Prime Minister regarding the extent to which the dominions are to contribute to the cost of Singapore. This matter is now being discussed by the British and Dominion Governments,
