STEADILY IMPROVING HOPES TO ATTEND GOVERNOR’S SWEARING-IN. RI7AHINE DUE SATURDAY. / On making inquiries yesterday, a “Times” mpresentative was informed that the Prime Minuter (the Right Hon. W r . F. Massey) had had an'excellent night on Tuesday, and is slowly but steadily improving-. 1 He is still resting in his own house and not attending to public business. Mr Massey hopes, however, to he able .to take part in the official reception to and the gwearing-in of Hie Excellency the Governor-General (Major-General Sir Charles Fergueson) on Saturday. It is expected that the detailed official on the lines already indicated—will he issued tomorrow. . •
The Ruahine, with Their Excelcies and party aboard, is timed to arrive in Wellington at 7 a.m. on Saturday, if nothing unforeseen delayp her. The work of erecting the open-air platform in front of the main entrance of the New Parliament Buildings, for the swearing-in of His Excellency the Governor-General on Saturday afternoon, was begun yesterday. and is now i.well in hand) Should the weather prove unfavourable, the ceremony will be hold in the Legislative Council Chamber..
