WAR DEVASTATION

RECOVERY IN BELGIUM. REMARKABLE WORK. Australian an- 1 N.Z. Cable Association LONDON, September 14. A report from Belgium shows that | out of over 100,000 houses destroyed during the war, 90,000 have been rebuilt. These include 1150 public buildings out of 1170 destroyed, and all of the 360 schools which were ruined. Over 34,000 acres of devastated land have been restored to normal condition! The work on land restoration may be regarded as practically finished.
