Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., 'ViaJt with the following cases in the Magistrate’s Court on Saturday: ' A first offender for drunkenness was fined 10s, and for a breach of his prohibition was convicted and discharged. Another first offender was fined sa. William Aveling was fined £1 on bis third conviction for drunkenness, and £5 for committing a grossly indecent act. George Saville, with five previous convictions for drunkesness, was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment. BOUND FOB, SYDNEY. “Me no savvy,” said Fon Gar Chong, a Chinaman, when he was charged with having secreted himself in the chairlocker of the s.s. Maheno. The Chinaman, declared through his interpreter, that he was to have teen smuggled into Sydney by one of tae firemen on board the ship for- tlio sum of £SO. A fine of £5 was imposed.
