OVER AN 'EMBANKMENT. ‘ OCCUPANTS’ NARROW ESCAPE. DARGAVTLLE, September 10. Three men, named Jack Vodanovioh, Visooe, arid A. Jolly, bad a narrow escape from a serious accident when returning -from Babylon to Dargaville in the termer’s motor-car. They were going through a cutting when the. engine back-fired, and lefore the driver could do anything the ear backed over a bank 50ft high with the engine blazing. The occupants immediately jumped out, the owner only receiving an injury to his band. When about 20ft down the bank the car got stuck bn a post. The machine was totally destroyed by fire. There is a small in. suramce, ' but the owner is a heavy loser.
