MERCER WINS EASILY. “WIZARD” SMITH THIRD. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 23. There was a large attendance at the Auckland Automobile Association’s races at Muriwai Beach. The chief event, the New Zealand Motor Cup, of 50 miles, five turns speed championship open race, resulted: Mercer H. Nattrass) 1 Ford (Andrews) 1 Essex (N. Smith) 3 This rade Was disappointing, only four finishing. The Mercer proved an easy winner. The New Zealand Light Oar Cup resulted: — Austin (Mill) 1 Fiat (Loasby) 2 Buick (Beadell) 3 The winner finished 55 seconds ahead of the second car.
