At Pawhuska (Oklahoma) oil operators bid a total of 14,923,000 dollars for the leases of the Osage Indian lands. There .were five bids of over a million dollars each, the largest being 1,990,000 dollars for 160 acres. The Osage tribe has now to meet to consider the bids.

In a reference to the sale a month ago it was stated that every leading oil company was expected to bid for the leases, and the Osage Indians, the world’s richest people, would Bee their wealth mount up.
