WHITFORD’S MURDERER. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright BRISBANE March 20. James Laydon has been sentenced to imprisonment for life with hard labour for the murder of A. E. Whit ford. James Laydon has been sentenced who was said to be still suffering from the effects of gas poisoning, shot Whitford dead outside the Tivoli Theatre, in Brisbane. The two men had been on friendly terms, but the dead man had apparently given bis friend cause for jealousy, owing to his attentions to Mrs Laydon.
