MISLEADING TELEGRAM. YOUNG MAN AND HIS LATE . FIANCEE. Per Press Association. GISBORNE, March 19. The retrial took place to-day at the Supreme Court of Lawrence Herbert George William on a charge of wilfully delivering to a postmistress for the purpose of being delivered as a telegraphic message a telegram purporting to be sent by Harry Craill, tho same being sent without the authority of the said Craill. Accused was a young man who had been formerly engaged to Craill’s daughter, who went away on a visit to the West Coast of the South Island. He sent a telegram which asked her to come home, and signed the message “Dad.” He was found guilty, but sentence was deferred.
