HIGHWAYS BOARD
MB GODFREY’S RETIREMENT. When the Main Highways Board met last week the chairman announced tbe resignation of Mr Godfrey, consequent upon the departmental duties attaching to 'his appointment as Secretary for Marino requiring his whole attention. Before tho board concluded its Bitting Jull took the opportunity of p*oposing that + here be recorded in tho minutes the board’s appreciation of Mr Godfrey’s advice and assistance, and thoir regret at his resignation as a member of the board. Other members present spoke in terms of aoDrcciation of Mr Godfrey’s help and regret at lis loss, and on the motion being put was carried with acclamation. Mr Godfrey suitably responded thanking members for their kindly expressions of appreciation. Mr Godfrey stated that he was sorry indeed to have to sever his connection with the Highways Board. Jbut the necessity to give his wohle attention tn his departmental duties consequent npon his recent appointment as Secretary for r Marine made his resignation ft matter of absolute necessity*
