1 • : CANADA’S GRIEVANCE. BRITISH COMPETITION WINS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 27. 5.5 p.m.) OTTAWA, January 25. A Montreal message says that the Canadian Pulp Paper Association’s report states it has the Government’s assurance that the pending negotiations give hope of a bqtter trade agreement with Australia. The report declares that tho present Government’s tariff changes have not •helped the pulp paper business, but have opened the door to British competition, the effect whereof is apparent in the decline of Canada’s newsprint exports to Britain from 3900 (?) tons in 1920 to 6525 tons in 1923.
