In compensation claims before the Arbitration Court, Mr Justice Frazer awarded William Burke £4OO against Nobel Explosives, Ltd., in respect of the loss of his son, Henry John Burke, when second officer of the schooner Huia: and Agnes Annie Wilson, widow, £750 against the Union Steamship Co., for the death of her son, Robert Oowie Wilson, seaman on the steamer Kauri, who died from injuries daubed byi ■felling against a hatch at Newcastle! Fifty pounds already paid is included in the award.
