WEEKLY RETURNS. DIPHTHERIA STILL PREVALENT. There was a reduction of one in the total number of infectious diseases notified in the Wellington health district last week as against the previous week, the figures being 19 and 20 respectively. Diphtheria continues te account for the big majority of the notifiable cases, there being 15 reported last week, 11 of them in Wellington. The district returns are as follows, the figures for the previous week being given in parentheses: Palmerston North, diphtheria 3 (1). Wellington. soarlet fever 1 (4); diphtheria 3 (11): tuberculosis 1 (1); puerperal septicaemia 2 (1). Nelson, diphtheria i (I).
