Mr Jack Jones, M.P., speaking at Carlisle, said that if the Labour Party were called upon to form a Government it would place the party’s programme ■before the people in the 'King’s Speech, and let other people vote against it. “Then we will go to the country, and ask the people to come to a decision on the programme we place before them.” RUSSIA ACTIVE HOPING FOR CONCESSIONS. The “Daily Telegraph ’s' ’ political observer states that important meetings are taking place at the Foreign Office in Moscow in connection with the possibility of a Labour Government in Britain, which the Bolsheviks will welcome with delight. While the committee of the Third International believes that even a shortlived British Labour Government would immediately recognise the Soviet, bet-ter-ad vieed diplomats point out that no British Government would concede recognition without demanding substantial trading advantages ip return. The Soviet' regime, which is now weakened by the protracted financial crisis, of which no end is in eight, would be at a disadvantage in such, bargaining. ON EQUAL FOOTING. The “Daily Telegraph’s” political correspondent states that the Soviet tradle delegation in England is actively preparing for the moment which it considers imminent, when a Labour Government will put Russia on an equal footing with the civilised countries. Numerous meetings, at which prominent English Socialists were pTeeent, have been held, with the object of creating an Anglo-Russian Entente. SUPPORTERS OF LABOUR DISMISSAL FROM TRADE. The Chancery Court has granted William Young, of Braintree, an injunction restraining George Mills, his partner in a brush-making business, from dismissing without Young’s consent any of the firm’s employees on the ground that they had supported Labour at the election.
