Rice was always attacking, following Mason round the ring, but Mason was the more skilful, and led on points in the early rounds. Rice then took command ior some time, and floored Mason twice in the 14tli round and once in the loth. Mason then had the advantage until the 20th round, when he was floored and took the count to eight. The referee’s decision met with a mixed decision. BRICKMAN AGAIN SUCCESSFUL. At the Lyceum Stadium, Griffith, recently, Syd. Brick-man, Bst slb (fiyweiglit champion of New Zealand), knocked out George Llovd Bst 121 b, in the eleventh round of what was to have been a fifteen rounds contest. The first round was a hummer —both lads evidently bent on annihilating each other. Briokman set a terrific pace, but found Lloyd equally willing, and they stood toe to toe and swapped punches while the crowd roared its approval. Rounds one, two, three, and four were elightly in favour of Lloyd, but after that Brickman'e punches started to weaken Lloyd, and in the ninth round Briokman, connected with a well-timed left hook that felled Lloyd as if ho had been pole-axed. Lloyd rose at nine and weathered the storm till the gong sounded. Briokman went after Lloyd in a tradesmanlike manner in the tenth round, and had Lloyd sorely distressed when the bell rang for corners. Scarcely had round eleven started when Brickman received a short right to the lower ribs which dropped him, but he immediately sprang to his feet before tho count started, and, baulking cleverly with a left-hand feint, landed a terrific left and crossed his right to the jaw, lifting Lloyd clean off his feet and depositing him on the canvas for the full count.
