The ca.use of the Deer Park explosion is likely to remain a mystery as all dues were destroyed by the wiping out of tho mixing house. It is miraculous that the whole works were not destroyed, as a hut where 5000 pounds of nitre-glycerine were stored was situated 500 yards away from the mixing house. Pieces of iron and other debris rained all over the hut, without detonating its contents.
