TRAGIC MISTAKE

Lancelot Johnson, who is alleged to have killed an ex-policeman named Harding, has been committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter. In the early hours of the morning Johnson, a boarder in a wine saloon, heard sounds of somebody forcing ah entry. He went to tho kitchen armed with a revolver, and saw a man who proved to bo an ex-policeman, Leonard Harding, entering. He fired, mortally wounding Harding, who was a friend of his. - Johnson was at first charged with murder.
