INVESTIG ATORS’ REPORT. CIVIC LEAGUE PLEASED. The Wellington - Civic League, at a special meeting last night, passed a resolution complimenting the City Council investigation committee on its report in connection with stores; and urged the necessity of the council putting the same into operation without delay. The chairman, Mr W. E. Wilson, said that, while grateful for what they - had got, what they had really wanted was an impartial investigation of the City Council’s operations from an outside and independent source. He hoped that they might later bring this about.
