ABOUT A PENSION
RECIPIENT CHARGED. NO FALSE STATEMENT. Tlie hearing was continued in the Supreme Court yesterday of the charges against John Craig Neill of making a fabie statement in order to obtain a supplementary war pension. It was alleged that when he was being examined hy the board doctor he said that he was unemployed, and he was granted a supplementary pension. It wan alleged that at this time he was employed by the Labour Department. The case was heard by Air Justice Reed and a jury of twelve. Mr P. S. K. Alacassey represented the Crown, and Air A. Gray. K.C.. with whom was Air J. A. Scott, appeared for cased.
Tlie jury retired at 2.55 p.m.. aiaJf returned at- 5.5 p.m. with a verdict m not guilty, and the prisoner was accordingly discharged. The jury returned a rider to the effect that the pensioner should sign a declaration that the answers pdf. tc him wore correct.
