DUNEDIN, October 31

Joseph Thomas Christie, awaitinj trial on a charge of breaking and entering the premises of the Otago Farmers’ Co-op. at Dunedin and Mosgiel pleaded guiltv this morning to a charge of escaping w"hile lawfully confined, and was committed fot sentence. The evidence showed that accused unlocked his cell on October Bth in the early morning with an ingeniously constructed key made frorii bent wires bound with a strip of blanket. He was caught near the railway station within a few minutes.
