APPEAL TO EX-SOLDIERS.

Sir lan Hamilton, when unveiling a war memorial at Batlev, Yorkshire, said the world’s ex-soldiers, or even half of them, if they joined together, could close for ever the chances of another big war. . . . The American and British legions, sooner or later, would see eye to eye regarding the present carnival of hate, greed, and fear, which was paving the way direct for another dreadful war. Not till then would they have paid the full debt of gratitude to the heroes in the late war.
