NEW OBSERVATORY
ON TOP OF SWISS ALPS. HINDU’S GUT. Australian, and N Z. Cable Association. (Received October 30, 9.10 p.m.) LONDON, October 29. Hie “Daily Express” states that Mr Asuan Dina, a Hindo engineer scientist, and his wife, who are in America, are presenting France with an equipped observatory oosting £1,250,000. The observatory is being erected on Mont Sal eve peak, 4430 feet, above Geneva. Its equipment will include a telescope 105 inches in diameter, five inches larger than that on Mount Wilson. Saleve is an isolated peak, with an atmosphere of the purest, and tho place is exceptionally free of clouds and air currents. An aeroplane service and wireless will bo installed, to keep the observatory in daily touch with civilisation.
