FARM HAND KILLED
ACCIDENTS AT WAIMATE. Per Press Association. WAIMATE, October 12. There was a chapter of accidents at Waimate, one being fatal. Joseph Sturgess, a single man, aged about 34 years, with another man, was felling blueguma at E. R. Kingsbury’s farm, Willowbridge. yesterday afternoon. As a tree fell it broke a branch from another tree, and the branch struck Sturgess on the head. He died five minutes later.
William Pauli, a farmhand at Redcliff, was kicked by a horse last cvenmg, his collarbone being broken. Andrew Weir, while cutting trees at Wainono this morning, cut his foot With an axe. He was taken to hospital.
