The local wholesale lamb market hae been showing eome activity during the past week or so, and the Manawatu district, which is usually able to supply a fair quantity at this time oT"the year, has hot been able to Aiaintain the quantity equal to last year’s supply at this period, said a well-known commercial gentleman to a “Times” reporter yesterday. Some orders have been transferred from Manawatu to Hawke’s Bay, from where a particularly fine lone of spring lambs were secured, principally from Mr Syme9, of Longlands, Hawke’s Bay. The opinion generally expressed is that these are the finest lines which have yet reached the market for this time of the year.
