GERMAN FOOD PRICES
RECKONED IN MILLIONS. AND STILL RISING. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association BERLIN, October 10. Food prices have doubled within the last four days. The present costs ore: A loaf of bread, 76 million marks; a pound of butter, 400 millions; a quart of xnili, 25 millions; a pound of potatoes, 5 millions; coal briquettes, 520 million per hundredweight. A telegram to London costs 49 millions a word. Prices are still soaring.
