CUR DEAD AT BROCKENHURST. Oapt. P. J. Stopford, R.N., who was in New Zealand in command of H..M.S. Philomel, but who is now living at Brockenhurßt, England, naving retired from the Navy, writes to the Hon. W. H. Triggs, ' M.L.C., as follows: — 11 1 find plenty to do. Among other jobs, 1 have been put on tho Parochial Church Council, and at a meeting which I have just attended the question was discussed of rehanging and augmenting the bells in the old Parish Church. It was suggested that, as there was a hospital here for New Zealanders during the war, and upwards of 100 are buried here, some of those who were patients and the relatives of some who died might like to contribute towards the cost, 1 shall be obliged if you can make this known for me. The smallest contributions will be welcomed, and should be sent to the Vicar, BrockenhurSt, Hants, (for Church Bells Fund).”
