RUGBY CONTROL
LOCAL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the management committee of the Wellington 'Rugby Union wa6 held last night. Mr J. Prendeville presided.' ■ The recommendations of the ground committee regarding the carrying out of certain improvements at Athletic Park were approved. It was agreed to give the Porirua Football Club a share of the gymnasium funds, the amount to be held by the Union until the club concerned definitely decides' on its programme with regard to a gymnasium. Venous club secretaries wrote expressing appreciation of the committee s action in giving clubs an opportunity of augmenting their gymnasium funds by the recent benefit matches. Applications fidr reinstatement were made bv four ex-Leagne players, who were informed that the question of reinstatements would be considered shortly by the New Zealand Union. The applicants would have to stand down meanwhile. It was decided to inform the King Country Rugby Union that its application for a match against the touring Wellington team would be considered in due course. There was some discussion regarding the failure of certain dubs to supply satisfactory evidence as to the ages of players in the lower . grades. With regard fa Foneke’M faijujre tjo comply with the conditions it was decided that the fourth grade champion? ship be not awarded. Concerning Petone fifth, and sixth grade teams it was agreed to postpone consideration until the team slips are checked. , Mr A. Priddle’s tender for the supply of school footballs was accepted. FUTURE MATCHES. v The following fixtures were arranged for Saturday week: — Serhampore v. Oriental, Athletic Park. Athletic v. Hutt, Hutt. Marist'v. Old Boys, Newtown. Selwyn v. Petone, Petone. Wellington v. ’Varsity,, Kelburn. Poneke, a bye.
