(To the, Editor "N.Z. Times.") Sir,—l would, like to ask a simple quee tion in. connection with the Mayoral contest. On the last occasion Mr McKenzie was announced as a candidate, later on it was stated that he had withdrawn from the contest. Now it is not reasonable to assume that an understanding with Mr Wright had been arrived at—and what arrangement would it be—clearly a promise which We electors, in supporting Mr Wright thoroughly appreciated. Now we feel we should support Mr McKenzie,'■having stood down last time, even without a signed document. Mr Wright-should stand down if he is a sport PAIR PLAT,
