April 17. A telegram from Philadelphia says that Harry G. Brock, a millionaire society man, is the first motorist in America to be convicted on a murder charge arising from an automobile accident. Brock pleaded guilty to murder in thle second degree, and was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment. • His automobile ran down and killed two women and a boy alighting from a tramcar. His motor was travelling at a high rate of speed through the city streets.
