SHOPS WILL REMAIN OPEN. DESPITE PROCLAMATION. By Telegraph.—press Assn.—Copyright. (Received April 17, 8.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 17. The Chamber of Manufacturers, following tile lead of the Victorian Retailers’ Council, decided to keep businesses open on Ansae Day. In Victoria, though the Government has proclaimed a pnhlio holiday, the Retailers’ Council resolved that the stores should remain open, and that Anzac Day should be observed next Sunday instead.
