Although Miss Magdalene Williams created a new world’* record by dancing for 65’hours and 53 minutes without police interference, and the Clii eago health (authorities have declared that they would not interfere with anybody wishing to dance themselves to death, the New York police ordered three couples to leave the dance hall. ' But the dancers, undaunted, waltzed to the sidewalk and then up an improvised ramp into a motortruck equipped with a gramophone, which discoursed . inspiration while the truck was ferried across the Hudson to Fort Lee, in New Jersey, where the Mayor ordered them to leave the town. Meanwhile the dancers continue their Marathon 1 upon the motor-truck floor, pending a search for a more hospitable town. The public everywhere is ’ thoroughly aroused, and t is believed unlikely that the authorities will tolerate a continuance, but the dance managers are adamant, declaring'that the contestants will finish in gaol, if necessary. >.
