WAIRARAPA FARMERS
“IRREGULAR PRICES” COMPETITION FALLING OFF. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-op. Association, Ltd., report We submitted a catalogue of 2fiGo bales, sale commencing at 8 a.m. The catalogue comprised a good selection of wool, but the condition was probably heavier than the January offering. We report irregular prices. Compared with January Wellington, sale we found that wool suitable for America was lower by probably Id per lb. A smaller quantity of this description was offered by us and there was nothing like the competition shown for it at the earlier sale. Amongst onr beet realisations of fine crossbreds were Hutinga, 24 bales, 12Jd; WHH, 12Jd, and TIL, 13id. Medium and low' crossbreds suffered the heaviest decline, these being lower than the January rates by lid per lb, in some instances 2d per lb. The demand for lambs wool was weaker and erratic, medium to good being lower by probably Id per lb. Southdowns maintained their price, realising up to 24Jd per lb. This was paid for a line from Mr F. C. Turner, Eketahuna.* Bellies and pieces were in fair demand, and in. comparison with fleece wool commanded good prices, although they also declined Jd to Id per lb on the heavier lines compared with January rates. The decline in prices started at Timaru sale on the sth and has been continued at each succeeding sale. We regret that a large part of our catalogue was passed in, reserves in many instances being much too high. We give below particulars of some of the sale made bv us:—CBF/Hutinga* three-quarterbred 12Jd and lOjd, crossbred 9jd, lambs 12Jd, crutchings 6Jd; * WBM/Pruatar.ga, crossbrd 9d and Bd, lambs 15Jd, pieces SJd, bellies Bjd; Takitaki, crossbred, 9d; Lindale, lambs 13Jd; Pahiatua/MA, crossbied, 9d; Kearoa', crossbred, IQJd; Weber, Lincoln, 9jd and SJd, piece® BJd; JC/M, crossbred, 8d; H/Bcntwater, crossbred 10d and 9d; CVP, * crossbred, BJd; Poi Poi/Z, crossbred, BJdj Greenfields, crossbred, B£d; 7/Runganiwi, crossbred, 9jd; GC, crossbred, lljd; NAP, crossbred, B£d and SJd; Rl>/Femdale, crossbred, 7fd; Brightside, crossbred B|d, lambs 12d; HHB, crossbred, BJd; JPB, crossbred, BJd and BJd; A 3, crossbred, lOd; HT, lambs, 15Jd; HMR„ Romney, 10d; JMG, crossbred, lOd; Clive/A, crossbred, 8d; CN, Romney, 19Jd; crossbred l2Jd, 10Jd and 92d, pieces 7d; J and W, crossbred lOjd ana 12jd, lambs 13Jd; CA, crossbred 9d; JAH/D, crossbred, 9Jd and 8d; LyndonAVL, crossbred, 8d: TIL, crossbred, 13jd; JFH, crossbred 9Jd and 7Jd; PAT, crossbred, lid; Puketoi, crossbred, ICd; NTG, crossbred, 9d; NJA, crossbred, l2Jd; Morton OL, crossbred, 84d; JCC, crossbred, 8d; CK, crossbred 9|d and Bd, lambs 12d; WHH, crossbred, 12Jd; CPK, crossbred, 101 d; Z/Rimu, crossbred. lOjd and 9jd; FW, crossbred, BJd; Oti-Mai. crossbred, 9}d and BJd; ALA, crossbred, BJd; TTY, crossbred, 7Jd; W B/M, crossbred, 121 d and 12Jd; Waiwaka, Southdown, 24Jd; JH/Rangitumau, crossbred, BJd; Longridge, crossbred, 10|d and 9d.
