DEATH OF A MAORI
DRANK POISON BY MISTAKE. Per Frees Association. HASTINGS, February 5. A Maori. Epiha Peni, 65 years of age, engaged in shearing at Pakipaki, being thirsty, drank arsenic in solution from a bottle nearby. He collapsed and died in a few hours. It is said that the solution was used for treatment of foot rot in sheep.
