COMPLETE ISOLATION
COAL SUPPLIES STOPPED. STRIKERS WANT TO RETURN. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. ' PARIS, February 1. The Ruhr was effectively isolated from unoccupied Germany •at midnight. AH coal supplies were stopped. The “Petit Parisien” says that a largo number of German railwaymen approached the Allied authorities and asked that they might resume uncbnditionally. The offers were recorded reservedly, owing to recent acts of sabotage. The Commission will not call tho men until the circumstances are opportune. The French authorities in the Ruhr have begun intensifying the delivery of coal on account of reparations. UGLY DEMONSTRATION AT FRENCH OFFICERS’ HOTEL. Reuter’s Teleerati. BERLIN, February 1. There was a huge demonstration at Koeaigsberg. in tront of the hotel, where French officers and members of the Inter-Allied Commission are staying. The crowd demanded the departure of the officers. The police frustrated attempts to force an entrance into the hotel, and finally cleared the square. M. POINCARE VOTE OF CONFIDENCE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.
