LOST ON EGMONT

SIX PARTIES SEARCHING. Fer Press Association. ELTHAM, February 2. The search for 'William Murray, the Presbyterian missionary who was lost on Mount Egmont oh Tuesday, continues without result. Mr Anderßon, of Kaponga, followed tracks down the mountain side and then up again to within a thousand feet of the summit, where a heavy storm compelled him temporarily to abandon the search. He returned exhausted after two days’ efforts, finding, in addition. to the tracks, tho remains of a small fire and a piece of cord tied to the scrub. The lost man evidently surmounted his great obstacles with, wonderful spirit. Six parties are operating strenuously, and hope to find Murray to-day. Messrs Murphy and Anderson were almost frozen during a _ storm when searching near the summit yesterday. •
