“NEW STAR" A MYTH?

SEARCH OF THE SKIES UNAVAILING. Is the reported disoovery by a Roumaifian professor of a new- star a myth ? In a long search Mr Jackson, tho chief assistant to Dr. A. C. (Jrommelin, of Greenwich Observatory, found no trace of the star, the report of which has caused a sensation in English astronomical circles. “Though the given position was very indefinite,” a “Westminster Gazette” reporter was iufoimed, “Air Jackson explored every possible region. He has come to the conclusion that a mistake has been made, and an established star has been suddenly ‘re-discovered* I” The position assigned to the new star by the Roumanian astronomer is close to the Milky Way, and Dr. Orommelin was first of the opinion that the report was accurate, as novae are most frequently found in that vicinity.
