FIRE ON CANADIAN PIONEER
FRESH OUTBREAK SUBDUED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 2. A fresh outbreak of fire on tho Canadian Pioneer, which occurred at < o'clock last night, was extinguished at l a.m. About noon the pumps were ejecting water from the hull at the rate of 15,000 gallons an hour, and wool is being unloaded at tho rate of sixty bales an hour. The flax will not bo discharged until coal is taken from the bunkers to relieve pressure on the bulkhead. CARGO IN NO. 2 HOLD ALL DAMAGED. Practically all tlje cargo in the Canadian Pioneer’s No. 2 hold is damaged.
