MOTOR CYCLING

WELLINGTON CLUB ADJOURNED GENERAL MEETING. The adjourned general meeting of the Wellington Motor Cycle Club was held last evening, Mr C. W. Tanner presiding over a good attendance. The report showed the club to be in< strong financial position. The subscription for the coming season was fixed at 7s 6d. The membership of the club 'has now increased to something like pre-war figures, A programme of events for the coming season is being prepared, of a kind to interest all who take their motoring for pleasure. Enthusiasts may look forward for reliability trials, social runs, gymkhanas,, and motor races, etc., such as used to characterise Saturdays aid holidays before the war. The club is out to foster good fellowship among the motor cyclists. Twenty new members were enrolled. A pleasing feature of the meeting was the attendance of several of the original members of the old club, who have signified their intentions of once again taking an active interest in the club.

Messrs Sutherland and Rankine have offered to present to the member introducing the most new members during the season a gold medal. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow:—President. Mr 0. W. Tanner; Messrs Rogers, J. B. Brinsden, T. Reynolds. Thog. Oates, L. A. Edwards, F. W. Ranfclne, Hope Gibbons, etc.; club captain, Mr B. Grouby; vice-captain. Mr B. Hughes; secretary, Mr C. El. Mnrdell * treasurer, Mr L. Rankine; management committee, Messrs ,R. Bender, A. Broe, H. Ridler, T. Wilkinson. S. Barr, L. McCabe, F. W. Rankine, C. V. Sutherland.

It was decided to open the season with a social run to Palmerston North next 'Sunday, the 21st, leaving the G.P.O. at 1)30 a.m. Monday (Anniversary Day)' will bo spent at Awapuni at the motor races. An lrtvitntion is extended to all mototrvrlists who would like to join in "thin run.
