The Duke of Devonshire, Colonial Secretary, received a delegation at the Colonial Office, which asked that the Balfour declaration regarding Palestine should he abrogated, and a Bystem of responsible government inaugurated. The Duke replied that the Government would consider the question, but could not bold out any hope that there would be any departure from the late Government’s policy in Palestine.
