LAUSANNE, January 6. The Minorities Sub-Commission has adjourned. There was an angry scene, Rizanur heatedly refusing to listen to the further narration of Armenian sorrows, declaring that they themselves were responsible. Ho then walked out of the room. The Allied Mission conferred on the i situation thus cieated, and sent a protest to Ismet Pasha. PARIB BREAKDOWN ISMET WILL NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE. LAUSANNE, January 5. Ismet Pasha, in an interview, denied that he intended to take advantage cf tho situation created by the breakdown of the Paris Conference, 1 came to Lausanne to conclude peace, and I am nnable to see why the disagreement on the reparations question should affect the negotiations here.” AIMS, OF TURKS “MUST HAVE REPARATIONS.” CONSTANTINOPLE, January 5. After Cabinet, heard an envefy from Lausanno, Raouf Bey, the _ Premier, addressing the Angora National Assembly, said lasting peace was immediately obtainable if the Powers recognised Turkey’s judicial independence. Turkey oould not accept control oyer the demilitarised zones or the Straits, and must have reparations, including the price of the Dreadnoughts not restored by Britain. _ If the Powers did hot grant reparations, Turkey must hate liberty to exact them from Greece. A DIFFICULT SITUATION (Received January 8, 12.5 a.m.) LAUSANNE, January 7. The Turks failing to offer counterproposals, the Capitulations Commission adjourned indefinitely. It will be difficult to bridge -the differences, even by an unsatisfactory compromise.
