ALLEGED FORGERY OF CHEQUES BOTH ACCUSED REMANDED. Leonard Walter Makin, 36 years of Xa grocer by way of occupation, haa twice been remanded on the charge of forging the name of G. I. Beeson to a Government cheque for £7OO, with intent that the same would be acted upon aa genuine, waa before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., at yesterday morning’s sitting of the Magistrate’s Court. Senior-Detective Lewis asked for a remand until Jammy lOtb. THa man, said tho detective, was connected with another man who was before the court on the previous day on a similar charge. Remanded until January 10th. THE OTHER MAN. Percy Dawling Hawkins, aged 28, appeared on a similar charge as the above. In this case it was alleged that the forgery took place at Feuding. A remand until January 10 was also granted in this ease.
