An aeroplane engaged in bombing the Mahsudo was hit by a bomb from another machine and crashed, killing the pilot and -the observer. The enemy looted and burned the machine. It is reported that 600 Warirs are raiding caravans on the Dundap-Seistan road. Troops and levies are operating against them, but have not yet made contact with the raiders. A second band is reported west of Quetta, anl is intending to raid Baluchistan. EXTREMISTS’ CONFERENCE DELHI, January 2. The deliberations of the extremists at the congress at Gaya are not attracting much attention. Even the extremist papers admit that nothing of great importance has transpired, and that the presidential address lacked inspiration. HOME RULE SECTION SHOWS IMPATIENCE. A NEW ORGANISATION. In connection with the Nationalist Congress, a manifesto has been issued announcing the formation, under the leadership of Das, of a party to be called the Congresq Khalifat 'Swaraj Party, which will work within Congress. Having full faith in non-vio-lent non-co-operation, but believing that the programme adopted by the Congress is not conducive to the speedy attainment of swaraj (home rule), the party will form its own organisation, issue a separate programme, and try to convert the majority of the Congressmen. Das has meanwhile resigned the presidency of the AlLlndia.Cbmnrittee in order to leave the majority free to appoint its own office-bearers. The Khalifat Conference, at the concluding session, derided, in the event of a Turkish war, launch immediately a civil disobedience campaign, including the spreading of propaganda among the police and the army, the preventing of the picketing of foreign cloth and liquor shops, and the preventing of the export of food grains. It also resolved to recruit a legion for service under the Angara Government.
